Astroscale is transforming space sustainability into a commercial reality, addressing the challenge of thousands of tons of debris in orbit. The company is actively developing solutions to mitigate space debris, enhancing the long-term viability of orbital operations. This initiative is crucial as the increasing congestion in space poses significant risks to satellites and other space assets.

Astroscale's ISSA-J1 mission, set for 2027, aims to inspect two defunct Japanese satellites, ALOS and ADEOS-II, in different orbits. Weighing 650 kg, ISSA-J1 will utilize thrusters and imaging systems for detailed inspections. This mission follows the successful ADRAS-J mission, enhancing Japan's space situational awareness and in-orbit servicing capabilities, as stated by Nobu Okada.
