Tranche 1 Transport Layer (T1TL) is a satellite constellation program by the Space Development Agency, consisting of 154 operational satellites, including 126 Transport Layer satellites. It aims to deliver persistent regional encrypted connectivity and support Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) missions. The program is designed to enhance data routing across a larger network of space vehicles and integrates with existing military communication systems.

SDA’s Sandhoo: Tranche 1 Launches Resume in May or June

Space Development Agency's acting director Gurpartap Sandhoo announced that Tranche 1 Transport Layer launches will resume in May or June 2026 after a pause for technical fixes. The first orbital plane launched on September 10, 2025, delivering 21 York Space Systems vehicles for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. Future launches will integrate software corrections for improved performance.
