
Poland Invests in New Defense GEO Satellite Built by Thales, Airbus, and Radmor
Poland has signed a contract with Thales Alenia Space, Airbus Defence and Space, and Radmor to develop a new GEO telecommunications satellite for defense purposes. This satellite aims to enhance secure communications for the Polish armed forces, incorporating advanced resilience and cybersecurity features to address modern security challenges. The agreement was announced on April 20, 2026.

Thales Alenia Space, Airbus Defence and Space, and RADMOR signed an industrial agreement to develop a geostationary telecommunications satellite for the Polish Ministry of Defense. This project aligns with the European Commission’s Readiness 2030 plan, enhancing Poland's national space sovereignty and military communications capabilities against electronic warfare threats. The consortium will proceed to detailed design and mission planning.
